LG U+ Employees 40 Participate in Rural Volunteer Activities During Farming Season

Employee Participation in Farm Work Assistance Program
"Committed to Coexisting with the Local Community through Various Sharing Activities"

In celebration of the farming season, LG Uplus announced on the 18th that it conducted a 'rural volunteer activity' to assist with the labor shortage in farming communities. The activity was carried out in collaboration with the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. About 40 employees from LG Uplus and LG HelloVision participated.

The volunteer work took place at two tomato farms located in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province. Participants helped remove tomato suckers and tended to the crops to ensure healthy fruit growth. Kwak Dong-kwan, Head of Next-Generation U+ DX2TF, said, "It was rewarding to be able to ease the workload of the elderly who work hard in the hot farming season, even if just a little."

Meanwhile, LG Uplus is expanding hands-on volunteer activities involving its employees. Last year, 35 employees participated in a farming volunteer activity at a vineyard in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, helping with tasks such as covering grapes with protective bags. In the first quarter of this year, employees engaged in community service activities including 'mural painting' to improve aging school walls and 'sharing love through bread' by gifting bread they baked themselves to underprivileged neighbors.

Lee Hong-ryeol, Head of ESG Promotion at LG Uplus, stated, "Through this volunteer activity involving our employees, we hope to provide some support to farmers who are responsible for the nation's food supply by helping with their labor shortages. We will continue to strive to coexist with local communities through various volunteer activities."
