Yoo Sang-beom "Lee Jae-myung, Kim Nam-guk in a Situation Where Immediate Severance Is Difficult"

Yoo Sang-beom, a member of the People Power Party, pointed out that it would be difficult for Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, to immediately cut ties with Kim Nam-guk, who left the Democratic Party amid multi-billion coin allegations.

On the 17th, Yoo said on BBS's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal,' "During Lee's judicial risk, members of the so-called pro-Lee group, including Kim Nam-guk from the 'Cheoreomhoe,' strongly defended him," indicating this.

It is not easy for Lee to distance himself from Kim, who defended him like a bodyguard.

He also pointed out that the Democratic Party's effective opposition to the joint disciplinary proposal by both ruling and opposition parties regarding Kim was due to Lee's attitude. Yoo said, "Yesterday, a joint disciplinary proposal was suggested by both ruling and opposition parties, but the Democratic Party showed an effective opposition stance, saying that the party's fact-finding committee will continue its investigation," adding, "However, since Kim has left the party, there is no way for the fact-finding committee to operate."

He continued, "What this means is that if the prosecution's investigation into Kim progresses and public opinion worsens or a turning point appears, we might reluctantly respond. It seems to show such a stance," and added, "Ultimately, this stance comes from the attitude shown by Lee."

Yoo said, "Although I am a member of the opposing party, it would be beneficial for the Democratic Party to act as quickly as possible," and added, "Kim's continuous lies so far, especially his coin trading activities during the standing committee process, have significantly damaged the dignity of the National Assembly and undermined the trust in a member of the National Assembly. This alone is sufficient grounds for expulsion."
