On the 16th, the Civil Division 21 of the Seoul Western District Court (Presiding Judge Lim Jeong-yeop, Chief Presiding Judge) conducted a hearing on the provisional injunction case filed by former Democratic Party Deputy Secretary-General Lee Jeong-geun (61) against JTBC. The court stated that a decision would be made as early as June 9 and no later than June 16.

On that day, Lee's side argued, "JTBC infringed on honor and personality rights by broadcasting the audio," and claimed, "The recording file is presumed to have been obtained through a crime, and broadcasting and posting the recording file obtained through a crime on the internet is also a criminal act."

JTBC countered, "Lee's side has not sufficiently proven that the recording file was obtained through criminal activity."

Earlier, Lee filed a provisional injunction on the 2nd, requesting a ban on the broadcast and deletion of related posts, alleging that some of the recordings from his mobile phone, obtained through seizure and voluntary submission, were provided by the prosecutor to a JTBC reporter.
