Namwon Aerospace Astronomy Observatory announced on the 16th that it will expand its 1-night 2-day stay program, which allows visitors to enjoy traditional hanok experiences all at once, including the observatory, Namwon Yechon, and Hampau Sound Experience Center.
This program was launched to provide more practical and rewarding memories to tourists visiting Namwon City, starting with the 93rd Chunhyang Festival to be held from the 25th.
Tourists participating in the program will freely explore Gwanghallu Garden, designated as Scenic Site No. 33, and the Namwon City Kim Byung-jong Art Museum on the first day.
Later that day, during the night and the morning of the second day, they can enjoy various scientific experiences at the observatory, such as day and night celestial observation, basic astronomy lectures, virtual VR experiences, and 4D video viewing.
Reservations for the program are made through the observatory, and a separate accommodation discount rate will be applied.
Kim Jong-hak, head of the Namwon City Tourism Facility Business Office, said, “Along with the expansion of this 1-night 2-day stay program, we conducted a pilot operation of the program experience for Namwon City employees to establish it as a popular program. We promoted it by having employees experience it first and then share their firsthand stories widely.”
A city official said, “The pilot operation conducted through all employees before the expansion of this 1-night 2-day program received very positive responses. We expect it to be a good program for Namwon to become a stay-type tourist destination in the future.”
