The Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju received intelligence that motorcycle gangs will gather around the Gwangsan District on or around the 18th, marking the 43rd anniversary of the 5·18 Democratization Movement.

In fact, around this date, posts planning motorcycle racing are appearing on social media platforms such as TikTok and other social networking services (SNS) in the Suwan and Cheomdan districts of Gwangsan.


The police plan to deploy all available personnel on the day of the anticipated racing, block expected routes, and conduct crackdowns.


Those caught during on-site crackdowns will be immediately booked.


A police official stated, "We plan to deploy all available personnel," adding, "As this is a solemn and reverent period of 5·18 remembrance, we ask the public to refrain from socially condemned behavior."
