Shindonga Construction Conducts Volunteer Activities in Deokjeon Village, Gangwon-do Through One Village One Product Program

Shindonga Construction announced on the 16th that on the 12th, it visited Deokjeon Village in Deoksang 2-ri, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do, with which it has an Ilsa Ilschon sisterhood relationship, and carried out Ilsa Ilschon volunteer activities. This volunteer activity was held face-to-face for the first time in four years since the COVID-19 pandemic.


About 40 company executives and employees were divided into five teams and carried out tasks such as ▲weed removal ▲shiitake mushroom log maintenance ▲pepper stake installation ▲meju (fermented soybean block) making.

About 30 new employees also participated in this volunteer activity and exchanged first greetings with the village residents. On that day, the company not only helped with farm work but also delivered daily necessities such as gas stoves, cutting boards, and pruning shears for the villagers.


Kim Seongdal, head of Deokjeon Village, said, “I am very happy to see the Shindonga Construction executives and employees who visited the village again after four years,” and added, “I hope the village and the company will continue to help and rely on each other.”


Jin Hyunki, president of Shindonga Construction, who participated in the volunteer activity that day, said, “I am happy to have overcome the pandemic and to be able to visit the village after a long time to help ease the workload even a little,” and added, “We will actively support the exchange between Deokjeon Village and Shindonga Construction so that it can become a model case of urban-rural coexistence.”


Meanwhile, as part of the Familier Sharing Movement, Shindonga Construction established an Ilsa Ilschon sisterhood relationship with Deokjeon Village in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do, and helps with farm work twice a year during the busy farming seasons. In addition, during the off-season, it operates a direct agricultural product market at its Seoul headquarters where agricultural products harvested in the village are sold directly.
