Cheon Ha-ram "Son Hye-won and Kim Nam-guk Follow the Crowd... Strategy to Rally Zealous Supporters"

"If I Were the Democratic Party Leader, Kim Nam-guk Would Be Permanently Banned from Rejoining"

Former lawmaker Sohn Hye-won revealed a plan to revive Kim Nam-guk, who left the Democratic Party of Korea amid suspicions of tens of billions of won in cryptocurrency, as a proportional representative from Honam and send him back to the National Assembly. In response, Cheon Ha-ram, the People Power Party's Jeonnam Suncheon-gap district committee chairman, criticized it as a "strategy to rally the hardcore supporters."

On the 16th, Chairman Cheon said on KBS's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs,' "However, the public now sees through this strategy. I wish they would stop. How far is this going? It's truly regrettable," expressing his opinion.

Regarding Kim's earlier claim on the YouTube channel 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' that "the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's failures are being covered up by the coin issue," he said, "Whenever something happens, they blame the prosecution or claim opposition party oppression. It's getting tiresome," and criticized, "Without any concrete details or evidence, blaming the investigative agencies unconditionally is the Democratic Party's usual strategy of demonizing the prosecution."

He added, "What Kim is doing while making such claims is appearing on Kim Eo-jun's YouTube channel to rally his support base, and even former lawmaker Sohn is following along, calling him a righteous person and saying they will form a proportional party to make him a lawmaker. This is a strategy to rally the hardcore supporters again," he pointed out.

Regarding Kim's explanation on YouTube that "the amount traded during the standing committee was only a few thousand won," he criticized, "Kim is adding controversy upon controversy. What if an investigation during the standing committee reveals trades not of a few thousand won but tens of thousands, or even millions or tens of millions of won? I hope he stops worsening the situation with his explanations."

He also criticized Kim's departure from the party. He said, "If I were the Democratic Party leader, I would expel him permanently, banning his return," and added, "From the Democratic Party's perspective, this is the worst timing to leave. Kim himself requested a fact-finding investigation, and just as the investigation was getting underway and discussions were progressing in the reform party meeting, he left."

He continued, "He left before submitting key materials, which can only be seen as an attempt to avoid the fact-finding investigation. It's truly an escape-style departure, and then he says he'll come back shortly? If I were the party leader, I would naturally think, 'What does he think our party is?'"
