KT Completes Communication and Broadcasting Infrastructure at Naro Space Center
"Together We Will Leap to Become a Global Space Power"
Behind the third launch of 'Nuriho (KSLV-II)' scheduled for the 24th lies invisible cooperation from various sectors. KT is one of them. This is because KT is the company responsible for the communication and broadcasting infrastructure of Nuriho.

On the 16th, KT announced, "We have stably established communication and broadcasting infrastructure at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, Jeonnam, and strengthened security for key transmission facilities." Communication lines are essential not only for the launch of Nuriho but also for obtaining data on the flight position and flight status of the launch vehicle. The Naro Space Center uses KT communication lines for the Nuriho launch.
KT enhanced the stability and quality of the communication network transmission sections up to the time of the second launch. Ahead of this year's third launch, KT measured the transmission quality of the Jeju tracking station line and international lines together with the Naro Space Center in March. Additionally, KT completed perfect communication support preparations by applying an automatic switching function to backup wireless communication networks that can be used in emergencies.
KT also focused on building the broadcasting network. Broadcasting equipment was installed at six locations, including the main stage, the Space Science Center, and the Launch Control Building. A total of 40 broadcasting lines were configured to support relay broadcasts of domestic broadcasters, including terrestrial broadcasters such as KBS, MBC, and SBS. At locations expected to attract large crowds, such as the Space Launch Observatory, Namyeol Beach, and the Space Science Center, three mobile base station vehicles will be deployed to ensure uninterrupted wireless service usage.
Jijeong Yong, Executive Director of KT Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters, said, “KT will contribute to raising the status and technological level of our country through perfect communication and broadcasting infrastructure support,” and added, “Going forward, based on our business capabilities in AI, cloud, and big data, we will join in helping South Korea develop into a world-class space power.”
