The Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Future Vehicle On-site Workforce Training Project Group conducted the first advanced training of the third year of the "Future Vehicle On-site Workforce Training Project" over two days from the 13th to the 14th.
The Future Vehicle On-site Workforce Training Project was launched in January 2021 under the supervision of the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Industry Promotion Association, selecting four nationwide base educational institutions including Daelim University, Inha Technical College, Ajou Motor College, and Dong-Eui Institute of Technology.
In March 2022, Dong Seoul University and Yeungnam College of Science and Technology were added, bringing the total to six base educational institutions for the second year of the project, and base educational institutions are planned to be selected again this year.
During the training, trainees directly disassembled and assembled the core of hybrid vehicles, the HPCU (Hybrid Power Control Unit), and high-voltage batteries (High Voltage Battery) over 270V, and practiced fault diagnosis. Through this process, they had the opportunity to learn about maintenance technologies for future vehicles and the structure of the OBC (On Board Charger) in plug-in hybrid vehicles, which structurally differ from hybrid vehicles.

Starting with this training, the project group plans to conduct 10 advanced and specialized training sessions this year for both industry workers and students.
Training for industry workers is open to anyone employed in the automotive maintenance and repair field, and student training is available to any university student interested in future vehicles. In particular, following last year, training on the maintenance of electric buses will be provided again this year for workers employed at electric bus companies.
Project Group Leader Kim Man-ho said, "I hope the Future Vehicle On-site Workforce Training Project will provide more opportunities for local automotive mechanics to enter the future vehicle field," and added, "We will strive to help students secure employment not only in automotive maintenance but also in production and other sectors."
Established in 1995, the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has trained over 5,000 automotive professionals to date.
The department carries out various workforce training projects such as the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s "Work-Study Dual System for Students," the "Cheonghaejin University Project," the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s "Future Vehicle On-site Workforce Training Project," and Busan City's "BB21+ Eco-friendly Vehicle Workforce Training Project."
