The market research firm Markets and Markets forecasts the AI market size to reach $400 billion (about 527 trillion KRW) by 2027. This is a rapidly growing market with an average annual growth rate of 36.1%. Consulting firm McKinsey also predicts that by 2030, 70% of companies worldwide will adopt AI.
Accordingly, the Korean government is actively implementing AI market development policies aiming to become a leading AI nation, including investing 390.1 billion KRW this year to strengthen super-large AI competitiveness and nurture future strategic industries. Companies are also sparing no effort in technology cooperation and investment to lead the rapidly growing AI market.
