Mokpo Team Competes in 24 Events with 349 Athletes
The Mokpo City Sports Council in Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it held a team determination ceremony for the athletes ahead of their participation in the 61st Jeollanam-do Sports Festival at the Mokpo International Football Center Multipurpose Gymnasium.

The Jeollanam-do Sports Festival, a grand festival of unity for 2 million Jeonnam residents, will be held from the 12th to the 15th for four days at various venues including the Wando Public Stadium under the slogan "Jeonnam Sports Festival in Clean Sea Wando for Unity" this year.
The Mokpo City team will participate in a total of 24 events this year, including 22 official events such as athletics, soccer, and boxing, 1 demonstration event of Jokgu, and 1 exhibition event of Gateball, with 349 members (247 athletes and 85 officials).
About 150 people, including Park Hong-ryul, Mayor of Mokpo, Kim Seong-dae, Chairman of the Sports Council, Mokpo city council members, many guests, officials, and athletes attended the determination ceremony to encourage success at the Jeollanam-do Sports Festival.
The city expects this Jeonnam Sports Festival, held ahead of the 104th National Sports Festival and the 43rd National Para Sports Festival, which will be hosted mainly by Mokpo in October and November, to be an opportunity not only to cheer for the successful hosting of the National Sports Festival but also to confirm the skills and abilities of Mokpo athletes.
Mayor Park Hong-ryul said, "If the athletes confidently demonstrate the skills they have honed so far, I am confident they will achieve good results," and urged, "Please do your best and show great games with pride and honor representing the citizens of Mokpo."
