National Library of Korea Signs Agreement to Share Medical, Scientific, and Geological Research Achievements

The National Library of Korea under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 12th that it held the '2023 OAK (Open Access Korea) Repository Distribution Agreement Ceremony' with National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, and Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources.


The OAK Repository is a Korean-style open access archive that permanently preserves and discloses research outcomes. The library supports the partner institutions in building, utilizing, and maintaining the repository system to receive research results. Through this agreement, more than 13,000 academic research information items in the fields of medicine, science and technology, and georesources will be additionally disclosed.

Soojung Kim, Head of the Digital Information Planning Division at the National Library of Korea, stated, "We will create a K-Library where various academic research information produced domestically can be conveniently accessed by the public and further freely shared and utilized overseas." She added, "To this end, we will continuously expand the institutions distributing the OAK Repository."
