On the 12th, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education awarded medals and certificates of commendation to teachers who contributed to the development of Gyeonggi education in celebration of the 42nd Teachers' Day.
This year, a total of 1,385 recipients were honored, including ▲2 recipients of the Green Stripes Order of Service Merit ▲3 recipients of the Order of Service Merit ▲18 recipients of the Presidential Commendation ▲24 recipients of the Prime Minister's Commendation ▲607 recipients of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Commendation ▲731 recipients of the Superintendent of Education Commendation.
Additionally, the Minister and Superintendent commendations were selected after receiving recommendations and reviewing candidates who made contributions in six fields: ▲curriculum guidance ▲student guidance ▲career and vocational education ▲educational innovation ▲educational welfare and volunteer activities ▲lifelong education.
Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Education, congratulated the recipients by saying, "I congratulate you on today's honorable awards," and expressed respect and gratitude to all teachers who are always devoted to student education at schools.
Han Jeong-sook, the 2nd Deputy Superintendent, who presented the medals and certificates on behalf of Superintendent Lim, stated, "The center of new Gyeonggi education is the school, and the teachers play the most pivotal role in schools," adding, "On Teachers' Day, we actively support the teachers who lead the future of Gyeonggi education and, furthermore, the future of education in the Republic of Korea."
