Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station, Special Training to Raise Awareness on Drugs

On the 12th, the Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju announced that it conducted special education to raise awareness about drugs for 10 classes at Sungdeok High School in the district, in collaboration with the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korea Anti-Drug Movement Headquarters.


Until the 19th of next month, special education aimed at preventing drug abuse and misuse will continue for 45 classes at Seongdeok High School, Bomun High School, Cheomdan High School, and others, in cooperation with the Anti-Drug Movement Headquarters.


A police official stated, "This education was prepared based on the recognition that drug crime prevention is most important through prior prevention."


He added, "Those who supply drugs to youth or involve them in crimes face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment or imprisonment for more than five years," and warned of strict punishment, saying, "The prosecution has also announced a strict response, even seeking the death penalty in the most severe cases."
