Lee Jung-jae, the first promotional ambassador for the 2030 Busan World Expo, gained worldwide love by starring as the main character in the 2021 Netflix drama ‘Squid Game,’ which recorded the highest viewing hours in Netflix history.

He will also create a sense of unity with visitors by taking commemorative photos at the photo zone while performing the signature pose of the 2030 Busan World Expo with both hands together and shouting “Bring it to Busan.”

Following this, visitors will watch a TV commercial featuring Lee Jung-jae promoting the 2030 Busan World Expo and the Expo Present (X4 present) music video on the 200-inch large LED screen, introducing the charm and strengths of Busan.

Finally, the event will move to the theme hall introducing the main and sub-themes of the 2030 Busan World Expo, where key keywords of the Expo will be delivered using tablet PCs, expected to create a significant impact among local dignitaries and media outlets.

An SNS event will also be held to promote the pavilion. Visitors who post photos taken in front of the 2030 Busan World Expo photo zone on social media with hashtags related to the Expo will receive a folding fan engraved with the 2030 Busan World Expo emblem as a souvenir.

Additionally, the pavilion staff will be selected from Korean international students studying locally to effectively convey the significance of hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo and the charm of Busan as the candidate city.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “By establishing the 2030 Busan World Expo Promotion Pavilion in Paris, where the International Bureau of Expositions headquarters is located, we expect that the charm and strengths of the 2030 Busan World Expo and the candidate city ‘Busan,’ as well as Korea’s passionate bid, will be conveyed more vividly to local visitors and major media.” He added, “I would also like to thank Lee Jung-jae once again for attending the opening ceremony despite his busy schedule to promote the 2030 Busan World Expo.”

He pledged, “We will intensify the bid negotiations and promotional activities targeting member countries of the International Bureau of Expositions during the remaining period until the host city is decided.”

In addition to operating the 2030 Busan World Expo Promotion Pavilion, the ‘2023 Korea Expo’ event will feature product showcases and business consultations, presenting the latest trends and technological capabilities that can increase interest in Korea. It will also strive to promote economic and cultural exchanges between Korea and France through these activities.
