Suspected Abduction and Enticement of a Minor
A man in his 70s, Mr. Han, has been referred to the police for investigation on suspicion of handing out business cards with the phrase "I will repay you if you contact me" to female students.
The Seoul Jungnang Police Station announced on the 11th that they are investigating Mr. Han on charges of abducting and luring minors after he handed out business cards containing his name, phone number, and other personal information to female students in front of a middle school and an apartment complex in Sinnye-dong, Jungnang-gu. It is reported that Mr. Han handed out the business cards to passing female students over two days, on the 4th and 8th. The back of the business card had the phrase "I will repay you without disappointment if you contact me."
Meanwhile, claims have been raised on online communities that Mr. Han also handed out business cards in front of an elementary school.
The police responded to a report stating "a grandfather with dementia is handing out business cards" and immediately called Mr. Han. On that day, Mr. Han came to the Bonghwa Police Substation and was voluntarily accompanied to the Jungnang Police Station by the police.
