Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 11th that it will additionally implement the ‘Imsil Travel Month Tourist Attraction Travel Agency Incentive Special Support Project’ in May and June, along with the existing incentive support project that provided incentives to travel agencies attracting group tourists.
This incentive support project was selected last month by Jeollabuk-do as part of the ‘2023 Travel Month Linked Jeonbuk Specialized Program Support Project’ and is being promoted accordingly.
For two months from this month to next month, the incentive will be increased from the existing 300,000 KRW to 500,000 KRW per bus until the budget is exhausted.
The support target is limited to travel agencies outside Jeollabuk-do, and support will be provided if conditions such as attracting 30 or more people, visiting two or more tourist sites within the county, and using at least one meal at a local restaurant are met.
To receive the incentive support, travel agencies must submit a prior plan and itinerary at least three days before the trip, and submit the payment application and supporting documents within 15 days after the trip ends.
Detailed information can be found on the notice board of the Imsil-gun website.
The county is continuously promoting SNS tourism events, actively advancing various promotions and marketing that align with changing tourism trends, such as developing tourism products linked with Korail and operating sightseeing city tours, accelerating the era of ten million tourists.
According to the Korea Tourism Data Lab, the number of visitors to Imsil-gun last year was 8.1 million, showing a steep increase of 162% from 4.09 million in 2018.
This year, there are prospects that the era of Okjeongho Lake and the Imsil N Cheese Festival will make ten million tourists in Imsil possible.
County Governor Shim Min said, “With the additional implementation of the travel agency incentive support project during the travel months of May and June, we expect many people to visit Imsil. We will promote customized strategies to attract tourists, contribute to revitalizing the local economy, and do our best to realize ten million tourists in Imsil.”
