Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station Usan District Unit conducted a crackdown on motorcycle traffic violations in the area on the 11th.
They also requested motorcycle riders to refrain from causing noise by unnecessary honking and educated them on prohibiting violations such as running red lights and dangerous driving.
A police official urged, "Motorcycle accidents can cause fatal injuries to riders unlike regular vehicles, so wearing safety equipment such as helmets is mandatory."
He added, "We will do our best in policing activities to create a safe traffic culture by continuously focusing on this issue, conducting joint crackdowns on motorcycle traffic violations in cooperation with local governments, and promoting education and awareness."
