Ulsan Office of Education Supports Healthy Growth of Students

The Ulsan Office of Education will hold the Ulsan Superintendent's Cup School Sports Club Competition from the 13th to October 14th to support the healthy growth of students.


The competition will involve 592 teams and 7,492 participants from 170 elementary, middle, and high schools in the Ulsan area. The student participation rate increased by 23.5% compared to last year's 6,068 participants.


The events include 16 categories from the National School Sports Club Festival (netball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, jokgu, jump rope, soccer, table tennis, tee-ball, dodgeball, flying disc, softball baseball, cheerleading, futsal, kin-ball, sports stacking) and 2 recommended events by the Ulsan Office of Education (creative dance, sujokgu), totaling 18 events.


The recommended events were established to activate girls' sports clubs.


The competition will be held as a weekend league at 21 venues including the Ulsan Student Education and Culture Center and school gymnasiums.


Under the competition's purpose of fostering healthy-minded talents who practice consideration, respect, and cooperation, and nurturing talents who live together harmoniously, the goals are to improve students' health and physical fitness, cultivate sound character, and create a vibrant school culture.

The final winning teams in each event will represent Ulsan at the 16th National School Sports Club Festival hosted by the Ministry of Education in November and December.


The Ulsan Office of Education supports various activities such as school sports club leagues by skill level, girls' sports club programs, and the 365+ Physical Activity Program to expand opportunities for participation in sports activities.


An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, “To support the healthy growth of students, we will activate school sports club activities and expand participation opportunities so that the youth who will lead the Republic of Korea can grow into bright and healthy citizens.”
