On the 11th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a breakfast meeting with German government officials and others at the Grand Mercure Ambassador.
Mayor Hong expressed gratitude for the hospitality at the Hannover Messe and requested direction and cooperation for digital transformation in preparation for the next 50 years of the Changwon National Industrial Complex.
Anja Simon, Chief Operating Officer of LNI 4.0, also confirmed Changwon City’s commitment to digital transformation and responded that they would spare no effort in supporting future innovation in the industrial complex.
In April, Changwon City participated in the Hannover Messe, one of the world’s top three ICT exhibitions, signing a business agreement with Germany’s LNI 4.0. At the same time, a tripartite business agreement was signed with Siemens (Germany), Dassault Syst?mes (France), and the Korea Electronics Technology Institute to establish a foundation for systematic support of digital transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises located in Changwon.
2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, and this global collaboration system is expected to contribute to preparing for the next 50 years of Changwon’s future.
To lead a new leap in manufacturing for the next 50 years of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, Changwon City is promoting the establishment of a center that will support digital transformation across the entire manufacturing process and serve as a hub.
Mayor Hong said, “Digital transformation is an essential element for the Changwon National Industrial Complex to adapt to the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, but there are limits to efforts by individual companies alone. Therefore, we are preparing a project to complete the digital transformation of the entire industrial complex through continuous support until changes occur by establishing a center that can play a central role in comprehensive support and management through collaboration with global companies, domestic investment and research institutions, and universities.” He added, “Change and innovation are the only paths for the Changwon National Industrial Complex, and in that regard, I hope the cooperative relationship with LNI 4.0, which practically leads the German Industry 4.0 government policy, will be well maintained.”
