Enhancing Expertise Including Precautions During Disinfection

On the 11th, the Public Health Center of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it conducted industrial safety and health education for health center and township disinfection workers to ensure safer and more efficient disinfection activities.

The education covered topics such as an introduction to the Industrial Safety and Health Act, the importance of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), proper use of protective equipment, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders caused by handling heavy objects, reminding workers of the importance of safety.

In addition, to prepare for full-scale summer disinfection activities, practical content helpful for actual work was also provided, including how to operate disinfection equipment, safe handling and management of disinfectants, precautions during disinfection, characteristics of major domestic disease-carrying mosquitoes, and mosquito control methods, thereby enhancing the expertise of the personnel in charge.

The health center urged the attendees to thoroughly understand the training content and to do their best for safe and thorough disinfection.

Furthermore, besides directly conducting disinfection activities, the health center is carrying out various projects such as free rental of disinfection equipment and free support of disinfectants to help local residents practice daily disinfection.

A health center official stated, “During this sensitive period for infectious diseases, we will do our best to thoroughly disinfect vulnerable areas within the jurisdiction to prevent infectious diseases caused by vector pests and ensure residents can spend a comfortable summer without inconvenience.”
