Feasibility Study on the Construction of the Childcare Support Center
Interim Report Meeting Held
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 11th that it held an interim report meeting for the 'Feasibility Study on the Construction of Geochang-gun Comprehensive Childcare Support Center' at the county office situation room, attended by County Governor Goo In-mo, related officials, and 13 private experts.
The report meeting was organized to gather various opinions on the feasibility study for the construction of the Comprehensive Childcare Support Center, which has been underway since January.
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province is conducting an interim report meeting for the feasibility study on the construction of a comprehensive childcare support center.
Kim Hye-kyung, the lead researcher from the Gyeongsangnam-do Women and Family Foundation, which conducted the study, presented the overall status of infant and toddler care and childcare conditions in Geochang-gun, site analysis, and operational methods. Afterward, the attendees discussed the role and future direction of the Comprehensive Childcare Support Center.
The construction of the Geochang-gun Comprehensive Childcare Support Center is expected to serve as a comprehensive childcare service hub by providing various infant and toddler care support projects and spaces to overcome the outflow of young people and the low birthrate crisis as a response to the population extinction threat.
Governor Goo said, “We will create a family-friendly environment by linking key local health and medical services such as the Red Cross Hospital and public postpartum care center, which will be established within the Geochang-type Medical Welfare Town that our county is strategically promoting, with the Comprehensive Childcare Support Center to provide one-stop family services from pregnancy to childbirth and child-rearing.”
Geochang-gun will collect various opinions from this interim report meeting and strive to promote projects suitable for the county’s circumstances, while also accelerating efforts to secure national and provincial funding.
