In her opening remarks, Vice Chair Kim emphasized, "While the first main committee meeting presented the policy direction of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration on low fertility and aging society, it is now time to continuously supplement and discover detailed tasks considering the policy demands of the public," urging each ministry to make efforts to improve policies.
Additionally, the committee secretariat shared plans to improve the performance evaluation system to strengthen the policy implementation foundation and to promote campaigns to improve awareness regarding marriage, childbirth, and parenting, requesting cooperation from the ministries.
Each ministry shared the status of detailed task implementation related to the five key areas of low fertility (care and education, work-parenting balance, housing, cost reduction, health) and aging society policies.
Based on the discussions held that day, the committee plans to supplement and develop detailed policy tasks through related research, expert discussions, and gathering opinions from policy demanders, and will announce them later at the main committee meetings and other forums.
