Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold a ‘Resident Participation Event for Urban Brand Development’ until June 30.
To actively reflect residents’ opinions in developing a new urban brand, Geumcheon-gu operates resident participation event booths on the 1st floor civil service office of Geumcheon-gu Office and at each dong community center.
Residents who participate can visit the event booth and express the positive image they think of Geumcheon in one word in the format ‘Geumcheon is ○○○.’ The event is also available online through the Geumcheon-gu Office blog and other SNS channels.
Geumcheon-gu plans to provide coffee coupons and hamburger coupons by lottery to a total of 100 residents, 50 each in May and June, who participate in the event.
During the Geumcheon Harmony Festival on May 13 and 14, an on-site booth for the urban brand development event will also be operated on the road in front of Geumcheon-gu Office. Residents participating in the event can spin a roulette to win various prizes.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We want to find the core elements of the urban brand together with residents, so we ask for active participation from the residents.”

Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced that it will hold the children’s grand festival ‘The Playground We Drew’ on the 20th.
In celebration of Family Month, the 2023 Gangdong Children’s Grand Festival ‘The Playground We Drew,’ held at Gangdong-gu Office and Gangdong Children’s Center, offers various environmental play experiences so that infants and toddlers can easily and enjoyably develop interest in the environment amid the current climate crisis era.
At the Open Lawn Plaza of Gangdong-gu Office, various performances such as ▲upcycling performance and ▲magic shows will be held, along with various play experiences including ▲making your own toy ▲body growth experience (health promotion exercise) ▲making world with teachers ▲fishing playground ▲multicultural traditional play experience ▲toy exchange market ▲infant and toddler plogging campaign, encouraging children’s participation.
Additionally, promotional booths for programs will be operated simultaneously by Gangdong Police Station, Gangdong Fire Station, Gangdong Meal Center, Braille Library, and others. All experiences operated at the lawn plaza can be used for just 1,000 KRW each.
At Gangdong Children’s Center (16 Seongnae-ro 6-gil), free admission on a first-come, first-served basis will be offered for ▲family classical concerts with explanations ▲big block imagination playground ▲sky garden (soap bubbles, photo zone, ecological experience) ▲Mom’s Garden family resting area.
For a safe children’s event, the district will divide the experience programs held at Gangdong-gu Office and Gangdong Children’s Center into three sessions each (10:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and operate them by 100% advance reservation. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from 10:00 AM on the 10th via the Gangdong Children’s Center website.
In addition, to celebrate Family Month in May, temporary programs available for free use will be prepared at the ‘Seoul-type Kids Cafe’ and ‘iMom Gangdong.’ The Seoul-type Kids Cafe will operate life cycle-based early childhood programs linked with the Lifelong Learning Center, and iMom Gangdong will offer various contents to enhance children’s imagination, such as sensory play and physical play, under the name ‘FUN FUN Play School’ at three indoor playground locations (Gangil Branch, Cheonho Park Branch, Gildong Branch).
Seo Jeon-ok, Director of Childcare Support Division, said, “We hope this Gangdong Children’s Grand Festival will be not only a festival providing fun and sights but also a healthy play culture space that considers the future environment,” and added, “We hope children will fully participate in and enjoy the diverse experience programs and have a joyful time.”
