Two Company CEOs Managing the Ride Arrested
A major accident occurred at an amusement park in Russia when a ride collapsed while in operation, causing passengers to fall.
According to local media including TASS on the 7th (local time), a ride collapsed on the 6th at an amusement park located in the southwest of Orenburg, Russia.
As a result of the accident, a total of 20 people, including children, were injured, and it is reported that a 27-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl are in critical condition.
Videos capturing the moment of the collapse show a ride with swings attached to a roof spinning at high speed.
The passengers’ cheers continued briefly before a loud noise suddenly occurred and the ride sank to the ground. The roof of the ride collapsed, causing the hanging swings and passengers to fall together.
With screams, people around the ride rushed to help the passengers.
The city authorities explained through the media that the accident was caused by a mechanical failure.
Experts related to the matter expressed their opinions through local media, saying, "There are serious doubts about the company that ensured the safety of the ride and compliance with all necessary procedures before operating the ride."
Meanwhile, the Russian Federal Investigative Committee is searching two companies managing the ride and has arrested their representatives to investigate the cause of the accident.
