Yeongdeok-gun Youth Support Project Gains Favor Among Young People... Driving Regional Revitalization Yeongdeok County Office.

Currently, Yeongdeok-gun implements and supports a total of 16 projects to help young people start businesses and settle down stably, providing various supports to about 200 young people through these projects.

Among them, the Rural Youth Rooting Support Project and the Gyeongbuk Youth Startup Dream Support Project are part of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s region-led youth job projects, offering startup funds for two years and providing labor cost support when hiring youth in the third year.

These projects are currently recruiting participants, and detailed information can be found in the notices section on the Yeongdeok-gun website.

The Youth Prospective Entrepreneur Development Project supports startup funds for prospective entrepreneurs residing in the area or youth planning to start a business within a year. Last year, it nurtured three entrepreneurs.

The Youth Startup Regional Settlement Support Project supports youth residing outside Gyeongbuk Province who start businesses locally by providing activity expenses and commercialization funds. Cafes and restaurants utilizing local specialty products have successively established themselves in the region, achieving great success.

Additionally, the Youth Community Harmony Plus Project supports labor costs for companies or organizations based in the region that hire youth living outside the area, while providing housing expenses and networking opportunities with local youth organizations to the hired youth.

Last year, four companies and youth benefited from this project, and support is planned for five companies this year as well.

Finally, the University Student Job Project offers jobs that allow university students from the area to experience county government duties during vacation periods. Considering the great interest last year when 61 university students participated, Yeongdeok-gun plans to increase the project budget this year to extend benefits to more young people.

In particular, the newly launched Dream Connection Youth Cafe Support Project this year provides young people with a space to be active by utilizing local cafes. Unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 will be able to develop themselves through employment and startup programs at the cafes and receive job matching services based on corporate recruitment information.

County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol stated, “Many local governments identify aging and regional extinction as urgent challenges and are making various attempts to overcome them. Our county is also striving to implement effective youth support projects based on the specific needs and demands of young people and is achieving results. We will do our best to make Yeongdeok a place where youth can emotionally rely on and stay, not just a mechanical administration that spends budgets, but a responsible administration that carefully considers young people’s lives and interests and continues support even after the projects end.”
