Emphasis on 'Struggles for People's Livelihood and Principles and Common Sense of Democracy
Unity Within the Assembly and Solidarity Among Political Parties'
Baek Jin-kyo has been elected as the new floor leader of the Justice Party.
On the morning of the 9th, the Justice Party held a party meeting and announced the results of the floor leader election.
After the meeting, Floor Leader Lee Eun-joo stated, "Assemblywoman Jang Hye-young withdrew her candidacy, so Baek Jin-kyo was decided as the new floor leader."

Baek, who now bears the dual responsibility of leading the Justice Party's reestablishment and securing victory in next year's general election, said, "I feel both gratitude for being entrusted once again with the important role of floor leader at this critical time and a heavy sense of responsibility." Baek emphasized, "Following my role as the first floor leader of the 21st National Assembly, I will now serve as the last floor leader, dedicating everything to the Justice Party's reestablishment and the path to electoral victory."
Baek stated, "From the ruling party's domination under the Yoon Seok-yeol government, divisive behavior, pro-chaebol and anti-labor policies, tax cuts for the wealthy, to extreme pro-American diplomacy, the list of wrong policies is too long to enumerate," adding, "The people are demanding a role from the Justice Party." He continued, "In the face of the people's demands, we should not ask 'Can we or can we not?' but rather 'Will we or will we not?' The answer is clear. The Justice Party will uphold the people's will and confront the injustices of the Yoon government head-on."
To this end, Baek mentioned three strategic principles for the floor: ▲ fighting for people's livelihoods ▲ emphasizing the principles and common sense of democracy ▲ unity within the floor and solidarity among parties.
Baek said, "We will not fight with demons," explaining, "The two major parties, consumed by extreme political strife that demonizes each other, ignore the principles and common sense of democracy and focus solely on partisan interests, repeatedly losing the people's trust. The Justice Party will not compromise with this politics of hatred."
He added, "Even though public opinion polls showed a favorable position when the proposal for dual special investigations was initiated, the Justice Party chose not to take the fast-track. We believed it was most important to give the ruling party sufficient opportunity and then proceed through procedures according to the National Assembly Act," emphasizing, "Though the path is narrow and difficult, we will trust only the people and move forward."
