Gachon University President Kil-yeo Lee is attending the 84th Gachon University Foundation Anniversary Ceremony on the 8th and taking a commemorative photo with the award recipients.
On the 8th, Gachon University held the 84th Founding Anniversary Ceremony at Gachon Hall, attended by President Lee Gil-yeo, faculty members, staff, and about 300 students.
At the ceremony, 11 individuals, including Professor Jeong Jae-hoon from the Department of Medicine, received the Gachon Academic Award for their contributions to publishing excellent papers in domestic and international academic journals and nurturing future scholars. Additionally, 71 people, including Professor Kang Min-sik from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, were awarded the Excellent Educator Award. Furthermore, 13 individuals, including Professor Song Yoon-kyung from the Department of Korean Medicine, received the President's Special Award.
In his commemorative speech, President Lee Gil-yeo stated, "The past decade, based on the university integration in 2012, has been a period of reform and leap forward, overcoming numerous hardships to achieve miraculous changes. Let us demonstrate the frontier spirit without fear or hesitation on paths no one has taken before and strive even harder to bear fruit as a brilliant global university."
Gachon University also prepared various cultural events to celebrate the founding anniversary.
The 'Taekwondo Major Demonstration Team' and 'Yongoreum,' composed of Taekwondo major students, will showcase a Taekwondo demonstration at 1 p.m. on the 11th at Stardom Square.
The Department of Acting Arts will hold a musical gala show at 7 p.m. on the 10th at the Video Culture Hall, and vocal major students will perform the opera The Marriage of Figaro on the 12th at 7:30 p.m. and the 13th at 3 p.m. on the university's Yeeum Hall stage.
The Gachon International Art Fair, exhibiting works by students from the Department of Fine Arts and Design, will be held at the Vision Tower Exhibition Hall from the 8th to the 13th.
