Wemade in Talks with Microsoft for Console Game Release

Wemade in Talks with Microsoft for Console Game Release

Wemade announced on the 8th that it is discussing various cooperation plans with Microsoft, including the release of console games.

Wemade attracted strategic investment from Microsoft in November last year. Wemade is the only Asian game company that Microsoft invested in during 2022. Over the six months following the investment, the two companies have been discussing ways to strengthen their partnership in various fields.

The new title "Dismantle War" (tentative), currently under development by Wemade's subsidiary Dismantle War, is a Warverse game that allows for nation-based simulation reflecting real terrain. For the first time, Wemade will support not only PC and mobile but also consoles, and is negotiating to make the game playable on Microsoft's gaming platform as well.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is actively advancing in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), which can achieve cost reduction and maximize productivity. The cloud platform Azure helps game developers work efficiently through machine learning combined with AI technology, and related technologies are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

Currently, Wemade is using Microsoft's Azure to service global games in over 170 countries. Thanks to the success of "Mir4 Global," released in August 2021, Wemade's Azure cloud traffic in 2022 significantly increased compared to the previous year. "MirM Global," released earlier this year, is also doing well, sustaining the growth trend of Azure's global traffic.

Meanwhile, "Night Crow," which was launched on the 27th of last month, also uses Azure. "Night Crow" combines blockchain technology and is planned for a global release on WEMIX Play in the second half of this year.
