Delight boasts a high level of understanding of the content and media industry, with many lawyers who have long been responsible for content and media advisory work at major law firms and entertainment companies. The Content & Media PG is at the forefront. Chief Attorney Wonhee Jo (Judicial Research and Training Institute, 30th class) has represented major entertainment companies (games, music, movies, etc.) for over 20 years. He currently serves as a director and auditor of the Korea Entertainment Law Association. Previously, he was the head of the entertainment team at Law Firm Taepyungyang and has extensive experience working with overseas entertainment law firms and companies. Attorney Hyejin Hwang (2nd Bar Exam) mainly handles domestic and international IP licensing, content sourcing, distribution and investment advisory, as well as advisory and litigation related to IP infringement, based on her experience working at the Korea Creative Content Agency (Content Dispute Mediation Committee Secretariat) and the global game company Neowiz. American attorney Hansung Kang was in charge of overseas legal affairs for Samsung Electronics' Wireless Business Division and Media Content Center. Drawing on his experience working at an educational content startup, he also handles the global market entry and cooperation of Korean content and media companies. In addition, attorneys Sonee Cho (1st Bar Exam), Kyungmin Pyo (6th Bar Exam), Seongeun Ahn (10th Bar Exam), Hyunji Jang (11th Bar Exam), and Kippeum Kwak (Washington D.C., USA) work together on the team.
This team primarily provides comprehensive advisory and litigation services related to investment, production, distribution, and infringement response in the content and media fields such as games, music, movies, and broadcasting. They also offer advisory services that protect intellectual property rights (IP) and maximize their utilization, considering the industry's characteristics in domestic and international investment and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) involving content and media companies. Through networks with foreign law firms and tax accounting firms, they actively support the overseas expansion of content and media companies. Based on their expertise in the e-commerce field, they also assist in preparing terms and conditions and privacy policies for B2C transactions of content and provide prompt responses to B2C disputes.
Recognizing these achievements, Delight was selected as the 'Law Firm of the Year' in the entertainment category by the Asia Business Law Journal (ABLJ) in 2022. This year, they have set three goals. First, they aim to provide proactive services addressing various issues arising in new technology fields such as the metaverse, NFTs, and generative artificial intelligence. They plan to offer legal services focusing on the legal reviews required as existing entertainment companies integrate diverse technologies into their services. They will also expand legal advisory services for game companies. Paying more attention to the gaming industry, which is facing various challenges, they intend to find solutions together for the problems game companies are experiencing. Additionally, they will strengthen overseas operations. Chief Attorney Wonhee Jo said, "We have offices in Vancouver, Canada; Frankfurt, Germany; and Hanoi, Vietnam," adding, "We provide legal services to entertainment companies expanding overseas in line with the global spread of the Korean Wave."
