Gwanak-gu Calls for ESG Practice Ideas in Daily Life Throughout May... Up to 1 Million KRW Prize
Realizing ESG Management Through Residents' Ideas Following the ‘The ESG Gwanak Vision Declaration’
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is holding the '2023 ESG Idea Contest' throughout May to promote 'a city dreaming of the future, sustainable development of Gwanak.'
In February, the district established the ‘Gwanak-type ESG Policy Comprehensive Plan’ and held the ‘The ESG Gwanak Vision Declaration Ceremony’ in March. This contest was planned to gather various residents' ideas to realize ESG management.
The contest theme is ‘Policy ideas to practice ESG in daily life’ and covers three areas: ▲E-Environment (climate change, carbon neutrality, recycling, renewable energy, etc.) ▲S-Society (jobs, socially vulnerable groups, local safety, etc.) ▲G-Governance (resident autonomy, public-private cooperation, improvement of public service culture, etc.).
Applications are accepted until May 31, and anyone who is a resident of Gwanak-gu or attends school or works in Gwanak-gu, regardless of age, can participate. Applicants must fill out the proposal form posted on Online Gwanakcheong and submit it via the website, the person in charge’s email, or the People’s Petition website.
The district will evaluate creativity, economic feasibility, sustainability, scope of application, and effort, select winners in August, and announce them on the website. Prizes include 1 million KRW for the Gold Award, 500,000 KRW for the Silver Award, 300,000 KRW for the Bronze Award, and 200,000 KRW for the Encouragement Award.
For more details, check the Gwanak-gu Office website (News → Notices) or contact the Planning and Budget Division of Gwanak-gu Office.
A district official said, "We will do our best to actively reflect the diverse and creative ESG practice ideas of residents in district administration to create The ESG Gwanak."
