Under the theme of "Trans-Pacific Maritime City Network," the event featured a keynote lecture by Dr. Yoon Seok-jin (Head of the Global Industry Strategy Research Group at Incheon Institute) titled "Development Path of Global Gateways: Focusing on the Case of Incheon City," followed by a discussion.

In his lecture, Dr. Yoon explained, "The development stages of a global gateway can be described in three phases: processing trade zone, economic special zone city, and global gateway. Currently, Incheon is positioned between an economic special zone city and a global gateway." He added, "For Incheon to advance to the global gateway stage, the entire city must be designated as a special zone, with integrated logistics at the airport and port, and autonomous authority comparable to that of a free city."

During the subsequent discussion, participants examined the maritime city network through the development paths of global production networks and global gateway cities, focusing on the case of Incheon. Based on Incheon's example, they analyzed the development trajectory of the gateway city Busan, offering insights into the typology of Trans-Pacific maritime cities.
