You can experience the Mus?e d'Orsay in Korea at the immersive media art exhibition space, Arte Museum. District, a digital design company operating Arte Museum, announced on the 4th that it has signed a long-term partnership agreement with the Mus?e d'Orsay. According to District, this partnership provides an opportunity for the Mus?e d'Orsay to showcase its collection worldwide through media art, aligning with Arte Museum's global plans. The two organizations have established a comprehensive cooperative relationship, including joint marketing efforts.
In Arte Museum's special exhibition space, "Garden," a spatial media art installation will be presented, encompassing the history of the Mus?e d'Orsay and narratives from Realism to Impressionism. Additionally, a collaboration combining the Mus?e d'Orsay's collection with District's media art production capabilities is planned.
The first project under this long-term partnership is the "Arte Museum x Mus?e d'Orsay Special Media Art Exhibition (Orsay Special Exhibition)," scheduled to be showcased in the "Garden" space at Arte Museum in the second half of this year. The exhibition will cover French Impressionism, Neo-Impressionism, and Post-Impressionism represented by Monet, Degas, Vincent van Gogh, C?zanne, as well as 19th-century Neoclassicism, Academicism, and works by the master of Naturalism, Millet. Notably, the sculpture theme was curated with direct involvement from the Mus?e d'Orsay's sculpture curator ?douard Pape and his team.
Arte Museum plans to present a special curation not seen in traditional museums. While displaying the Mus?e d'Orsay's works in their original form, they will create a new virtual space reflecting the landscapes, culture, gardens, heaven, and hell of Paris, France, to arrange the artworks. This approach aims to reinterpret the works through Arte Museum's identity as a "virtual space that transcends reality and surrealism."
