As this festival is held for the first time in four years, the county prepared a variety of hands-on experiences and events that tourists can directly participate in, allowing visitors to enjoy new experiences every day.

In particular, the newly introduced ‘Bamboo Peddler Street Performance’ and ‘Bamboo Peddler Wanted’ events this year are receiving the greatest anticipation.

The ‘Bamboo Peddler Street Performance’ features magicians performing magic shows and various Joseon Dynasty characters such as peddlers roaming throughout the festival grounds, providing fun to tourists.

The ‘Bamboo Peddler Wanted’ event offers souvenirs and gifts to those who find the peddlers performing humorous acts.

Additionally, visitors can enjoy various bamboo-themed activities such as the Bamboo Children’s Playground where kids can run freely, bamboo canoeing, raft riding, bamboo slingshot shooting, and hanging bamboo wish plaques.

At the Siga Cultural Village within Juknokwon, visitors can experience foot baths along with exhibitions and demonstrations of intangible cultural heritage crafts such as fan making and comb making. Unique experiences like brewing traditional bamboo tube liquor at Unsu Dae-tong and making bamboo kites and water guns are also offered.

Furthermore, bamboo wish lanterns and nighttime landscape lighting have been installed along Gwanbangjerim, Starlight Moonlight Road, and the old downtown area to keep the festival atmosphere alive at night.

The main photo zone symbolizing the festival, installed at the entrance of Chuseong Stadium, and the emotional photo zone using the bamboo dome at the Comprehensive Gymnasium Plaza were bustling with tourists taking pictures.

Moreover, to link the festival with local residents’ income, the agricultural and specialty product sales booths are providing credit card payment and delivery fee support services, and live commerce is being operated to ensure the local festival benefits the county residents’ income.

On the 5th, the first-ever 1st Dambit Youth Talent Festival will be held, where youths from across the country will showcase wonderful performances.

On the evenings of the 5th and 6th, an EDM festival concert featuring Damyang bamboo beer and various foods will take place.

In addition, to create an eco-friendly festival site with residents and tourists united, a plogging event is being held where participants receive souvenirs for collecting trash in bags.

County Governor Lee Byung-no said, “Since this is the first festival in four years, we have prepared even more diverse programs, so I hope many people will join the festival. We will do our best to manage safety during the remaining period to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival.”
