There Was a Reason for the 4th Grade Integrity Rating

Despite the repeated misconduct of public officials in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do being revealed, they are only busy protecting their own, drawing attention to the background of this behavior.

According to the county on the 1st, there have been four cases of workplace power abuse incidents in the past three years.

Recently, some public employees at the Muan-gun Youth Training Center reported experiencing power abuse from their team leader, informed the responsible department head of the damage, and repeatedly requested separation measures, but since no separation was implemented, they complained of secondary damage.

However, Department Head B of the training center, after several days, separated the victims to the 2nd floor of the same building, saying that there were tasks that Team Leader A had to handle, which drew criticism from the victims of power abuse.

In particular, although Team Leader A of the Youth Training Center was penalized with a pay cut in May 2021 for abusing employees in their team, the punishment was only a reprimand despite the abuse being confirmed, leading to criticism that the true face of audit administration was exposed.

Mr. Park (46), living in Muan-eup, said, “Every time a power abuse incident occurs in Muan-gun, only light punishments are given, so I wonder if powerless employees continue to suffer damage,” adding, “I hope that strong punishments will be imposed on power abuse in the future so that no more victims will emerge.”

Audit Team Leader Jeong Daesul said, “We are continuously conducting face-to-face and cyber education for employees,” and added, “We hope that power abuse will be eradicated and a clean organizational culture will be established.”

Meanwhile, although there were multiple media reports last year regarding festival contracts, no audits have been conducted, and Muan-gun’s audit administration appears to be wavering, focusing on protecting their own staff.
