Sunchang-gun Holds In-Person Children's Day Festival After 3 Years

On the 3rd, Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk announced that the Children's Day festival, which had been held online due to COVID-19, will be held in person for the first time in three years on the 5th at the stage in front of the Hyangto Hall located in Sunchang-eup.

The Sunchang Youth Training Center will present a special Children's Day cultural event under the theme "Finding Neverland," divided into five zones including Hook's Selection, Peter Pan's Playground, Wendy's Dream, Tinkerbell's Fairyland, and the Indian Camp.

Each booth will offer various hands-on activities and a waterslide where children can relieve stress in the heat with water guns. In the Indian Village, where food is prepared, simple snacks and refreshing drinks will be provided free of charge.

In particular, some drinks will be sold at a price including a 1,000 won donation, and all proceeds will be donated to children living in group homes in the area and children in Syria and T?rkiye who are suffering from the earthquake. This aims to create a meaningful Children's Day where youth participating in volunteer activities can practice sharing.

Additionally, the Sunchang Children's Song Contest and Family Talent Show, where children can showcase their talents, will be held. The Sunchang Children's Song Contest offers a total prize of 300,000 won and applications are accepted until midnight on the 4th, while applications for the Family Talent Show will be accepted on-site on the day of the festival.

The Sunchang Youth Training Center, which is hosting this Children's Day event, is operated by the Jeonju Christian Youth Association (Jeonju YMCA) under consignment from Sunchang-gun.

At this event, any youth can freely use various cultural facilities such as the outdoor roller skating rink, study cafe, board game room, and coin karaoke along with diverse experience programs.
