Shinsung ENG CEO Lee Ji-sun Receives 'Global Quality Management Leader Award'

Shinsung ENG CEO Lee Ji-seon was recognized as a global quality management leader by realizing the localization of cleanrooms and the establishment of smart factories.

Shinsung ENG announced on the 3rd that CEO Lee Ji-seon received the Global Quality Management Leader Award at the ‘2023 Spring Academic Conference’ jointly hosted by the Korean Society for Quality Management and the Defense Technology Quality Institute.

The Global Quality Management Leader Award is given to executives who have contributed to the development of national industries through quality management and have faithfully fulfilled corporate social responsibility.

Shinsung ENG contributed to the growth of the domestic semiconductor industry by realizing the localization of semiconductor cleanrooms in the 1980s. Shinsung ENG’s ‘FFU (Fan Filter Unit),’ a core cleanroom equipment, holds 60% of the global market share and has been selected as a world-class product.

The company was also highly evaluated for leading future production process trends. Shinsung ENG’s Yongin plant, which produces cleanroom-related equipment, is a smart factory incorporating advanced technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence, and big data. In particular, through collaborative robots, production capacity increased by 210%, and defect rates were reduced by 97%, leading to its designation as a ‘K-Smart Lighthouse Factory’ by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2021.

As a first-generation solar power company, Shinsung ENG is also committed to fulfilling corporate social responsibility by achieving carbon neutrality. The company established Korea’s first renewable energy-based smart factory, using solar power for 40% of its factory operations, reducing approximately 1,800 tons of carbon emissions to date. It also provides RE100 solutions to domestic companies, contributing to their achievement of RE100 goals.
