The newly opened Choansan Gardening Center has a total floor area of 330.76㎡ and consists of a 'multipurpose space' for gardening-related cultural events and professional education, an 'outdoor practice garden' for garden training, a 'four-season greenhouse,' a 'library' where garden-related books can be read, and a 'ceramics art workshop.'
The district plans to operate the Choansan Gardening Center with goals to ▲spread Dobong-gu’s unique garden culture ▲provide professional knowledge education and train gardeners ▲create a community communication space through gardening activities. It will offer rich cultural events such as meetings with garden artists, garden book exhibitions, and book talk shows, along with various educational programs.

Programs linked with the nearby Choansan Wood Culture Experience Center will also be operated to create an ecosystem where gardening, pottery, and woodworking harmonize.
Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, “At the Choansan Gardening Center, we will provide life-cycle tailored education and experiential opportunities from beginner gardeners who will sow the seeds of Dobong’s garden culture to professional gardeners who will lead the ecological city of Dobong. Free Use for Parents and Caregivers... Guardian Accompaniment Required
Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) officially opened the ‘Insu-dong Shared Childcare Center’ on the 2nd to foster a community-centered childcare culture.
As nuclear families have become the dominant family form in modern society, weakening family caregiving functions, the district established the Insu-dong Shared Childcare Center to supplement these functions and reduce childcare burdens.
The ‘Insu-dong Shared Childcare Center,’ with a total floor area of 201.48㎥, is located on the first floor of the public parking lot at Jangmiwon Market, 24 Insubong-ro 78-gil, Gangbuk-gu.
The center consists of caregiving activity spaces including books, nursing rooms, and play areas, as well as program rooms for mutual aid and parent education.
Operating hours are divided into two time slots: 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM. Each time slot accommodates about 7 families, approximately 20 people, who can use the childcare center free of charge. Guardians must accompany children when using the facility.
The district plans to operate various programs such as creative art, board games, box gardens, and total crafts by sharing childcare information with parents and caregivers and linking with local community organizations at the Insu-dong Shared Childcare Center.
Residents wishing to use the facility can inquire at the Gangbuk-gu Family Center.
Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu said, “To improve residents’ access to childcare facilities, we have opened shared childcare centers in Beon 1-dong and Suyu 1-dong, and this year in Insu-dong as well. We will also promptly build the 4th shared childcare center in Beon 3-dong and the 2nd comprehensive childcare support center in Samyang-dong to expand childcare facilities so that all residents can conveniently use caregiving spaces anywhere.”
