Yeongildae Beach, Free Marine Sports Experience Event and Booths
On the 5th, in celebration of the 101st Children's Day, a variety of events that the whole family can enjoy together will take place throughout Pohang.
First, a Children's Day commemorative event under the theme "Play GO! Laugh GO! Grow GO!" will be held at the Pohang Cheolgilsup area. This event was planned to remind everyone of the precious meaning of Children's Day and to provide various content to children, the future leaders, offering them a happy day.
On the day, at the Cheolgilsup Oak Plaza, congratulatory performances such as a bubble magic show and broadcast dance will be held from 10 a.m., along with an exemplary children award ceremony. At Hanteo Madang (under the Daejam overpass), various experience booths will be set up.

At Yeongildae Beach, a free marine leisure experience event including kayaking and power boating will be held for those who applied online in advance for Children's Day. On-site registration will be available only for cancellations on the day. For children not participating in marine leisure experiences, various experience booths such as ▲ Pinwheel making ▲ Balloon art ▲ Sticker tattoos ▲ Color beads ▲ Slime will also be operated.
At the Youth Culture House area, the "Porini Playground" will open with experience booths and food booths. Visitors can try drones, face painting, nail art, outdoor karaoke, and one-day classes through prior registration such as making rattan frames and figure tile music boxes will also be held.
At the Majangji area in Uchang-dong, the Uchang-dong Youth Association will host the Uchang-dong Children's Day Grand Festival with various experience events such as playing ttakji (Korean traditional paper tile game), large yutnori (traditional Korean board game), and balloon art. Additionally, at the parking lot of Gyeongbuk Science High School, the Pohang Science Sprout Festival hosted by the Pohang Office of Education will be held, making Children's Day events abundant throughout Pohang.
Moreover, at the Gwibigo of the Pohang Cultural Foundation, as a special program for Children's Day week, the outdoor Silla Village will host the "Gwibi GO! Battle Ttakji King" competition, along with side events such as Gwibigo magic & bubble shows and traditional Silla Village play experiences, planned to be richly arranged.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, "I hope children, who will lead Pohang's future, have a happy day running freely and making precious memories with their families," and added, "We will do our best to promote child policies to enhance children's rights and expand experience opportunities so that Pohang can be reborn as a 'child-friendly city.'"
