Wellness life leader HPO (co-CEOs Seongbin Lim and Seungchan Oh) announced on the 2nd that its premium pet food brand, Copenhagen Recipe, won the main prize in the food category of the packaging division at the iF Design Award 2023, one of the world's top three design awards.
Germany’s iF Design Award is regarded as one of the most prestigious design awards worldwide and has been recognized as a supporter for the development and promotion of design since 1954. The iF logo is also widely accepted as an international symbol guaranteeing excellent design. Entries compete in categories such as product, packaging, and interior design, with 133 judges from various countries selecting the winners. This year, about 11,000 entries from 56 countries fiercely competed for the awards.
The awarded product includes the dry-type organic feed “Base Food” and the “Essential Capsule,” which contains condensed nutrients tailored to the condition of companion dogs. It received high praise for developing a highly sustainable product by producing inner packaging using bio-PE material certified by the Ministry of Environment for eco-friendliness and sourcing most raw materials from the manufacturing country to reduce carbon emissions. This achievement marks the brand’s second major award from the world’s top three design awards, following the IDEA 2022 main prize last year.
Copenhagen Recipe is a premium pet food brand that treats companion animals as family members. Based on wellness (health of body and mind), togetherness (sharing a happy life), and wholeness (lifelong completeness), it proposes a lifestyle recipe that goes beyond simple animal feed to accompany pets throughout life. The brand identity is developed around Oliver, the brand persona inspired by Mary Oliver’s poem “Dog Song,” and uses “Copenhagen Blue,” which expresses Denmark’s green land and leisure, as its key color.
An HPO representative stated, “This is the result of sincerely embracing the wellness philosophy of Denmark for the well-being of companion animals,” adding, “Through design deeply infused with the brand’s values, we will deliver respect and emotion to consumers.”
