Baemin Launches Certified Used Service for Serving Robots

Used Serving Robot Rental Service... Over 30% Cheaper

Baedal Minjok (Baemin) serving robots have opened the domestic used serving robot market. Since serving robots can be used at prices 30% lower than the existing rates, the popularization of serving robots is expected to accelerate.

Birobotics, a subsidiary of Woowa Brothers (CEO Kim Minsu), announced on the 2nd that it started selling the serving robot "Certified Used" rental product from last month. The Certified Used service is a product that allows the use of used serving robots certified through a strict verification process by robot engineers at Birobotics as rentals. The feature is that high-priced serving robots can be used at affordable prices. Until now, the cheapest product was in the 300,000 KRW per month range (based on a 36-month contract), but the Certified Used can be used for as low as 199,000 KRW per month, reducing the fee to about two-thirds of the existing price.

Birobotics also introduced products that include care programs and insurance. For a monthly fee in the high 200,000 KRW range, it supports robot maintenance and consumable replacement, and provides business liability insurance in case of accidents.

Birobotics plans to improve serving robots in terms of functions and services by understanding customer demand. In fact, it launched a call bell linkage service to call the robot to the desired location, facilitating serving and clearing. Kim Minsu, CEO of Birobotics, said, "After developing the serving robot business for three years, we realized that business owners have burdens regarding price and contract period, so we launched this certified used product," adding, "Birobotics will lead the market by developing reasonably priced products so that anyone can use serving robots without burden."
