On the 29th, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by more than 14,000.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 14,812, bringing the total to 31,157,272.
The number of new confirmed cases on that day was 1,021 more than the previous day (13,791).
The daily new confirmed cases over the past week from the 23rd to that day were 11,823 → 5,022 → 14,811 → 16,380 → 14,279 → 13,791 → 14,812, with a daily average of 12,988.
Among the new confirmed cases on that day, 35 were imported cases and 14,777 were domestic community infections.
The number of confirmed cases by region (including imported cases) was Gyeonggi 4,282, Seoul 3,663, Incheon 1,041, Gyeongnam 700, Busan 598, Chungnam 543, Jeonnam 531, Gwangju 482, Jeonbuk 471, Daegu 453, Gyeongbuk 434, Chungbuk 430, Daejeon 416, Gangwon 321, Jeju 179, Ulsan 163, Sejong 95, and quarantine 10.
As of midnight on that day, the number of critically ill patients hospitalized was 141, which is 3 fewer than the previous day.
The number of deaths on the previous day was 3, which is 8 fewer than the day before. The cumulative number of deaths is 34,474, and the cumulative fatality rate is 0.11%.
