Jeonnam and Gyeongbuk Volunteer Fire Brigades Collaborate for Resident Safety and Regional Development

The Volunteer Fire Brigades Association of Jeonnam and Gyeongbuk pledged cooperation for the safety of residents and regional development.

According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 27th, the volunteer fire brigades of Jeonnam and Gyeongbuk gathered at the Suncheon Innovation Farmers and Fishermen Center and signed a mutual exchange agreement.

About 100 people attended the signing ceremony, including Hong Young-geun, the head of the headquarters, and the male and female presidents of the volunteer fire brigades of Jeonnam and Gyeongbuk. The event proceeded in the order of a friendship exchange agreement, presentation of appreciation plaques, and communication activities.

This agreement ceremony was prepared to promote friendship between the associations and to establish a solid mutual solidarity based on trust and reciprocity in the event of disasters.

They will establish a cooperative system for damage recovery in the event of large-scale disasters, exchange exemplary cases to revitalize the volunteer fire brigades, and share tasks related to fire safety policies through mutual growth by revitalizing the local economy.

Choi Gyu-hwan and Kim Eun-sook, the male and female presidents of the Gyeongbuk Volunteer Fire Brigades Association, said, “We hope that this event will further activate exchanges between the volunteer fire brigades of Yeongnam and Honam regions.”

Lee Oh-nam and Park Ok-hee, the male and female presidents of the Jeonnam Volunteer Fire Brigades Association, said, “Let us work together for the safety of residents through wide-area disaster response cooperation and promotion of East-West harmony.”

Head of Headquarters Hong Young-geun stated, “I would like to express my gratitude to the volunteer fire brigades nationwide who are working for the safety of local communities even during their daily lives,” and added, “This sisterhood alliance will become a model case of volunteer fire brigades protecting the safety of local communities with a more advanced appearance.”
