Executive Chairman Jung Joon-ho welcomed the Dardenne brothers (Jean-Pierre and Luc) with eloquent remarks.

On the afternoon of the 27th, at the opening film press conference of the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival held at the Jeonju Digital Independent Cinema in Gosa-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, Chairman Jung said, "I am grateful that these two outstanding directors declined offers from many film festivals and came to Korea's Jeonju Film Festival," adding, "It is an honor for our family."

The Dardenne brothers' film, Tori and Lokita, is being screened as the opening film of this year's Jeonju Film Festival. Actor Jung Joon-ho attended the opening film press conference as a co-executive chairman and said, "I was deeply impressed by the Dardenne brothers' The Promise (1996). It felt realistic and documentary-like." He also said, "They are directors I would like to work with as an actor."

Before attending the press conference that day, Executive Chairman Jung Joon-ho had lunch with the Dardenne brothers. Jung said, "We talked a lot about films while having a meal with the directors."

He continued, "When I asked how films are made in Belgium, they said they once shot a take 82 times. I asked, 'Wouldn't the actors get angry and leave?' They replied that they even reshoot necessary scenes the next day. The idea that excellent works come from persistent directing was impressive."

The 24th Jeonju International Film Festival opened on the 27th and will be held until the 6th of next month around Jeonju's Cinema Street. This year, 247 films from 42 countries (125 overseas and 122 domestic) will be screened. There are 66 world premiere films being shown for the first time. Audiences can meet the films at 23 screens across 6 theaters in downtown Jeonju. Thirty-eight Korean short films are also available on an online platform.
