Kim Suhwan, Head of Jeju Fire Headquarters, Conducts On-site Inspection at Dream Tower Visit

Kim Suhwan, head of the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters, visited Dream Tower on the 26th, urging officials to strengthen safety management and diligently inspected various fire safety facilities to check the status of safety management.

According to the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters on the 27th, Dream Tower, the tallest building in the province, has 38 floors above ground, a height of 168.99 meters, and a total floor area exceeding 300,000㎡, classifying it as a special safety management target.

Dream Tower has more than 1,600 guest rooms alone, with 2,150 employees and many residents including users of various auxiliary facilities, making it a place where serious damage is likely in the event of a fire or other disaster.

At a meeting with officials, Head Kim urged special efforts in fire safety management as Dream Tower is a special safety management target and discussed organic response plans in case of emergencies.

Afterwards, he meticulously inspected ▲the maintenance and management status of various fire safety facilities ▲the heliport and evacuation safety zones ▲the operation status of evacuation and escape facilities ▲and the safety management status of multi-use establishments such as casinos.

Head Kim Suhwan said, “Quasi-super high-rise buildings like Dream Tower can significantly reduce damage through prior knowledge of fire characteristics and effective customized on-site activities,” adding, “We will enhance disaster response capabilities for high-rise buildings through tailored education and repetitive training.”
