ICH, a specialized company in IT component materials, announced on the 27th that it will actively expand its new business by promoting Eo Gi-han, a display expert and former Samsung Display (SDC) executive vice president, to president.
Eogihan ICH President.
President Eo holds a Ph.D. from KAIST (majoring in chemical organic synthesis) and joined Samsung SDI Research Institute in 1989, where he served as head of the materials development department. He later held positions at SDC as head of the advanced technology development group and OLED module development team leader (also serving as executive director and large module manufacturing team leader).
He is recognized as an expert well-versed in all aspects from research and development to manufacturing and mass production in the LCD and OLED module fields, having received awards such as the Jang Young-sil Award and Samsung Technology Award. He has also led various projects from new technologies to mass production of new products.
At ICH, President Eo will be responsible for overall management, including development, marketing, and company operations. He stated, “We will establish systems and processes to develop the company into a mid-sized strong enterprise. In particular, we will strengthen core foundational technologies ranging from basic materials to composite and advanced materials to prepare for future growth.”
ICH has supplied smartphone component materials such as film-type thin-film antennas (MFA), electromagnetic shielding gaskets, and tapes for IT devices to Samsung Electronics. Since last year, it has expanded its scope to OLED component materials, including composite materials for displays.
By acquiring the polyurethane (PU) foam business division of Main Elecom, ICH has internalized PU foam, a key raw material for display composite materials, and completed preparations for sales growth by investing in facilities at the Bac Giang factory near Hanoi, Vietnam.
