Sacheon Seopo Volunteers Join Rural Farmwork Assistance

On the 26th, NH Nonghyup Bank Gyeongnam Headquarters, along with NC Dinos and Gyeongnam FC, visited farms in the Seopo-myeon area of Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam, to assist with farm labor.

This labor assistance was also joined by the head of Nonghyup Sacheon Branch, the chairman of Seopo Nonghyup Cooperative, and the Sacheon Agricultural Technology Center.

Now in its fourth year, the ‘Beautiful Companion’ initiative was established in 2020 through an agreement between NH Nonghyup Bank, NC Dinos, and Gyeongnam FC to contribute to local community development and strengthen the public role of corporations.

This year, about 50 employees from the three organizations visited the Gyeongnam rural areas struggling with labor shortages to help with garlic scape harvesting, pumpkin planting, collecting agricultural waste, and cleaning the environment around the villages.

Jogeunsoo, head of Gyeongnam Headquarters, Lee Jinman, CEO of NC Dinos, and Ji Hyuncheol, CEO of Gyeongnam FC, united in their commitment to social contribution activities through farm labor assistance, reflecting on the meaning of the Beautiful Companion initiative.

CEO Lee said, “I understand that local farms face many difficulties due to labor shortages during the busy farming season,” adding, “We will continue to strive to provide practical help to local farmers through more activities and support.”

CEO Ji said, “I am glad to participate in the Beautiful Companion initiative for the fourth consecutive year,” and added, “There are many challenges in our agriculture and rural areas due to labor shortages during the farming season, and Gyeongnam FC will continue to be a provincial team actively involved in community contribution activities.” He further stated, “We will repay the love of the residents and fans by aiming for promotion to the first division this season.”

Head Jogeunsoo said, “Although the 2023 season is in full swing, I thank NC Dinos and Gyeongnam FC for joining us in assisting farm labor for the local community,” and added, “NH Nonghyup Bank will continue to carry out farm labor assistance activities to be a pillar of support for agriculture and rural areas struggling with labor shortages during the busy farming season.”
