Yeongyang-gun Multicultural Family Support Center Honored with Top Award as Best Performing Agency for 'Marriage Immigrant Women's Self-Reliance Capacity Building' Project

The Multicultural Family Support Center in Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, was honored on the 24th as the Best Performing Institution in the project execution category at the ‘Performance Report Meeting for Career Support Projects for Marriage Immigrant Women and Multicultural Children,’ hosted by the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and the Korea Healthy Family Promotion Agency, held at the Art Hall on the 4th floor of the POSCO Center West Building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Through the first and second year’s self-reliance capacity-building education for marriage immigrant women, computer training was provided, leading to the acquisition of ITQ certificates. Outstanding ITQ scorers were utilized as assistant instructors, and through Smart Store education, participants improved their operational skills by selling agricultural products such as apples and peppers that they personally cultivated via online entrepreneurship, thereby increasing their income.


Moreover, they achieved significant results by participating in the I-TOP competition conducted by the Korea Productivity Center, winning the Northern Gyeongbuk Regional Center Director’s Award in the graphics category.


Selected for the marriage immigrant women’s self-reliance capacity enhancement and children’s career support project, among 21 institutions from Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam, Incheon, and others, the Yeongyang-gun Multicultural Family Support Center was chosen as the best performing institution. Additionally, in the outstanding service user case category, two individuals, Won Mo (Vietnam, 30 years old) and Wang Mo (China, 39 years old), received encouragement awards.


Center Director Lee Seon-jeong said, “I am very pleased to receive the Best Institution Award and the Service User Encouragement Awards through strengthening the self-reliance capacity of marriage immigrants, and I will continue to strive to enhance their employment capabilities.”
