Wemade Play Unveils AI-Drawn Anipang Characters

Wemade Play announced on the 25th that it will apply AI-created characters to its games.

Wemade Play is conducting development work for design learning of its self-developed AI program, "Annie." AI-created characters are expected to appear in games as early as the first half of the year. Annie has completed major tests by performing machine learning on hundreds of thousands of images, including sketches and original drawings created by the art team over more than 10 years.

Annie has participated in analyzing and managing in-game advertising data. This time, by designing characters that more accurately predict users' in-game demands, the company expects this to serve as an opportunity to increase the utilization of the Anipang intellectual property (IP). Wemade Play plans to strengthen its corporate capabilities through AI development and services by expanding the dedicated development team and establishing a special AI task force (TF) directly under the CEO.

Lee Chang-myung, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Wemade Play, said, "We have expanded our scope from advertising business to design through vast data management, machine learning, and continuous AI technology development," adding, "It will greatly help game development by predicting and reflecting the planning intentions of developers and the interests and demands favored by users."
