Dongkook Pharmaceutical Supports Leukemia Children's Foundation's 'Pediatric Cancer Children Family Shelter'

Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced on the 25th that it will support the 'Pediatric Cancer Children and Family Shelter' project in collaboration with the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation.

Previously, Dongkook Pharmaceutical has sponsored the 'Family Happiness Outing with Madecassol' event through the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation since 2011. Since 2020, it has been supporting the cost of COVID-19 negative test certificates required for pediatric cancer children and their families.

This year, to ensure the smooth progress of treatment for pediatric cancer children and to alleviate the financial burden on their families, Dongkook Pharmaceutical will support the Pediatric Cancer Children and Family Shelter project. Most pediatric cancer treatment hospitals are concentrated in Seoul, so families of patients living in provinces face significant financial burdens not only from high medical expenses but also from additional costs such as lodging, meals, and transportation. In response, the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation operates a shelter in Seoul that provides lodging and meals, and Dongkook Pharmaceutical will support the operating expenses of this shelter.

The Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation expressed gratitude, saying, "We appreciate the support that allows pediatric cancer children and their families to temporarily reside in a safe space while receiving treatment," and added, "We also look forward to active participation in the 'Rest Supporter' campaign by companies, organizations, and individuals alongside Dongkook Pharmaceutical so that families living outside Seoul can focus solely on treatment."

Meanwhile, Dongkook Pharmaceutical conducts various social contribution activities with children's organizations such as the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation, Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, Korea Little Baseball Federation, and Korea Elementary Golf Federation, using the proceeds from its wound treatment brand 'Madecassol.'
